GCH Builds Green Units
Granite City Housing Authority has resumed the construction of 43 “green” units. The project is located on Nameoki Road on the site of recently demolished units built in the 1940 era.
The project is partially financed by a grant from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development. The development was designed and is being constructed to meet rigorous criteria which focus on both sustainable design and energy efficiency in developments. Each unit will be energy efficient with a well insulated building and this will result in substantial utility savings for the HA and the residents.
